Here's a few fun facts about us...

Kishwaukee Valley Storm is entering it's 26th season and has a long standing tradition of excellence in competitive fastpitch softball. Our players' hometowns span Kane County, DeKalb County, Winnebago County and beyond. Our exceptional coaching staff strongly believes in drilling fundamentals first. KV Storm has sent over 50 players on to play collegiately. Our BRAND NEW indoor facility, the KV Sportsplex, is located in Kingston, IL. The 6,000 square foot sportsplex boasts four state-of-the-art hitting bays equipped with advanced technology like Rapsodo and HitTrax for precise performance analysis. The facility features a well-designed workout area to complement training, alongside a spectator deck offering a comfortable view of the action. We also utilize the DeKalb Sports and Rec Center, Citizens Memorial Sports Complex in Sycamore and the Chessick Practice Center at NIU. KV Storm hosts STORM DAYZ - a 72 team, 5 age group tournament every June in Sycamore. Click on the Storm Days menu option to find out more about our 2026 tournament. Max Piper - 12U E-mail: coachmax@kvstorm.org Coach Piper is in his third season as head coach for the KV Storm. He has 9 years of coaching experience and strives to help his players reach their full potential and love the game. Steve Heide - 14U E-mail: sheide@kvstorm.org

25 years...and counting. Shay Butler - 16U E-mail: sbutler@kvstorm.org Coach Butler is entering his 4th season as a fastpitch head coach and his 9th year overall. He was a 4-year NCAA Division I pitcher at Western Illinois University, where he holds many pitching records. He was also named the WIU Baseball Pitching Coach for the 2003-04 season. Christian Dierschow - 18U E-mail: coachchris@kvstorm.org Coach Dierschow is in his 13th season as a youth fastpitch coach - 10th season in travel and 5th season at Storm. He previously was on the SGS Board of Directors including 4 years as President (2013-2021). Coach Dierschow is the current President of the KV Storm Board of Directors. He believes in creating an environment for his teams that allows his players to continue to have a passion to play. Fundamental focus in practice and fun through playing the game while continuing to be challenged through competition are key pieces of his philosophy.
